New quotes about artists and mood swings …
These are somehow comforting to me… or at least a confirmation that I’m not squirrel bait….
“That terrible mood of depression of whether it’s any good or not is what is known as The Artist’s Reward.” – Ernest Hemmingway Gilbert Blythe: All pioneers are considered to be afflicted with moonstruck madness. (Anne of Green Gables: The Sequel (1987) (TV) ) A self description of Van Gogh: “sad, but always cheerful”…. And there you go. Apparently there’s no such thing as a “happy” creative artistic person (ok, save Marcia) and creativity is fulled by some bleak sense of gloom and doom. I guess if I wanna get sucessful I gotta get down with the funk! Apparently pain equals productivity for an artist…..
