Look At Me…
Look at me
Don’t you close your eyes.
Keep your whole heart on me.
Don’t walk away; don’t disconnect.
Look at me.
Look at more than what you see.
This was your idea last time I checked.
Please don’t shut me out.
Don’t turn your back on me.
Say the words that are hard; say what you think.
I want no “yes man”.
Don’t you say what you think I want to hear.
Even if there’s a chance our ship might sink.
Give me your hands.
Let me hold them still.
Don’t you know that motion is your tell sign.
I know you.
Open up that door.
Let’s keep no reserves back this time.
Please don’t shut me out.
Look me in the eyes.
Let’s just be real honest and forth right.
When we’re through,
And the real healing has begun,
Let me be the one to hold you tight. – April
